MAy 20, 2009

Today we are on our way to Cambridge to go punting and do some shopping while seeing the town. Putting is like riding in a gondola boat, you get a tour of the city with a relaxing boat ride. This was probably one of my favorite things I have done here. We managed to find our way to Cambridge and get some directions to the punting place since we had no idea where we were going. On our way there all we saw where people riding bikes. There were bikes everywhere this had to be the most exercised little town ever. I was very impressed they taking biking so seriously that a Police Officer had to stop a couple of people because they were riding their bikes the wrong way on a one way street.

After a long walk we made it to the putting stand. The guy gave us a deal on our tickets since we were such a big group and we were on our way. Our tour guide was amazing he told us everything there was to know about all the sights to see on the riverbanks. We even got the chance to make some friends along they way with a group of kids who were steering there own punting boat. We passed them a couple of times and on one of our last run in they threw us a couple of beers. We also were going under a bridge and a couple of young boys called out to us asking if we wanted sweets and then proceeded to throw candy down to us. We were getting a lot of free stuff on this ride. On our way back to the dock our tour guide was telling us where a good place to eat and he mentioned beer fest never the less we were totally going there next.

After we got off our tour our guide told us how to get to beer fest and then told us he would see there. We made our way to beer fest, which was such an experience. We walked in and each got a cup and made our way to the beer. This was the most beer I have ever seen in my life. We were able to try all different kind of beer, cider, moonshine anything you wanted they had and more. We were able to sample beer from all over we also stopped to eat there. We ate at this little burger stand I asked for a regular burger but I def got a bison burger which is buffalo. It was very lean and it was ok I was jus not accepting it so I was not a really big fan of it. After we finished our food we found or tour guide he came over to talk to us for a while and he even taught us some drinking songs. It was something about yogi bear?? I don’t know he was full of very interesting information that night. He was trying to convince us to stay that night but Dani Meg and Court had already left for the train and half of us wanted to come back to school and others wanted to stay out but in the end we all decided to come back to school. We started our very long walk to the train station and we made it just in time 4 min left to spare and made it back to the manor safe and sound.
